One of One Baseball Sketch Cards Debut in Updates & Highlights

Topps has been making waves with its Sketch Cards program for several years in its entertainment products. The one of one original art cards from Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and other products have been hot collectibles with a huge following.

Topps is pleased to announce that the Baseball Sketch Cards program will make its debut in the upcoming 2008 Topps Updates & Highlights Baseball , which ships next week.

The Hobby Exclusive program will feature gorgeous works of original art with all cards being a 1 of 1. And they can be found 2 per HOBBY CASE! (also randomly inserted in HTA Jumbos).

The Baseball Sketch Cards program will then make its second appearance in 2008 Topps Stadium Club Baseball with each 4-box case guaranteeing a 1 of 1 Original Sketch Card.

SARAH PALIN MAKES HER TOPPS DEBUT

Earlier this year, Topps issued a 12-card insert in its 2008 Topps Baseball product called “Campaign 2008” featuring Barack Obama, John McCain, Joe Biden and nine other presidential hopefuls. The set garnered national media attention as loyalists traded and bided on their favorite candidates.

Today, Topps announces that it has added an additional subject to the set…Republican VP hopeful Sarah Palin. But her card will have a twist!

Palin will have 2 cards: Pictured as you see her today and pictured as an Alaskan Beauty Queen.

The tiara-wearing governor version will have a limited print run and can be found nation-wide the second week of October in packs of 2008 Topps Updates & Highlights.
